Welcome The Central European Observer was a journal published in Prague, Czechoslovakia, between 1923 and 1938 that contained a wealth of information about events in Central Europe. I am borrowing that title to use in a very different context because I have spent a lifetime observing the history and current affairs of Central European states, particularly the Czech and Slovak Republics and their political antecedents. This site is designed to assist university graduates and undergraduates with improving their assignments, navigating the historical profession, and learning more about Central Europe. In addition, a few items are of interest for high school students. Finally, the news, comments, postings, and travel information are of interest to the public in general. Dr. Daniel E.
